Councillors and residents tidy Elm Park

We’ve had lots of complaints about the fly-tipping and rubbish in the car park on the corner of Northwood Avenue

This car park is no longer run by Havering Council and it is, therefore, the responsibility of the owners to keep it clean and tidy. However, as part of our London in Bloom community clean up, we decided to make a start on it.

Lots of people thanked us for doing it and I especially liked the resident who thanked us, but said “I keep telling the councillor about this”. I said “I am the councillor,” Stephanie Nunn. He also offered to help next time, as did several other residents. Check Facebook or community noticeboard for details.

A big big thank you to all who volunteered on the day, there were 12 of us and it was hard work. We filled 18 sacks of weeds and rubbish from the car park and town centre and 4 crates of glass bottles. Please get in touch if you would like to help next time.

London in Bloom judging will be in July, back to normal this year.
